Pinup Manifesto

We are strong, intelligent women who know what we like and what we like is nerdy. Our interests may vary, from video games to Verdana, but we are proud to reclaim the title of Nerd and no longer be embarrassed about who we are.

We are the girls you teased for having glasses, reading during recess and beating you at chess. We are the girls who were told to change our majors because science/math/tech/etc. is for boys. We are the girls who were gawked at in comic book stores and sci fi conventions.

We are those girls no more but we have not forgotten. We will not let you mock us for what we enjoy. We will not be intimidated at events. We are rolling natural 20's, fragging n00bz, destroying debate opponents, coding the sites you read, teaching you history, writing the music reviews for the bands you love, cosplaying your favourite anime characters, lining up at midnight for the latest WoW expansion pack and so much more.

We are nerdy and proud.
