I have been asked a monumentous question by a gentleman named Paul. 

The Question: "I've heard tell of a group of people who believe that the world is round.  A sphere.  A globe, as it were.  That it's impossible to fall off the edge if you go too far in one direction.  Is there any truth to this rumour?  They're a bunch of crackpots, right?

I mean...  What would happen to the elephants?

Curious minds need to know!"

Well Paul, I have heard these mutterings myself in the more scientific circles I run it. Seems to be that yes indeed it is an oblate spheroid.  I know, it sounds crazy but when you take into account the many pictures taken from "outer space" and the first hand accounts from those who have been in orbit of our planet as well as those who have sailed or flown around the world, you are hard pressed to deny it as fact. 

I have been to what I would refer to as the "ends of the earth" and I can guarentee you that you can't fall off.  And as for the elephants, they hold many secrets that we may never be privy to...
