Pinup Manifesto
We are strong, intelligent women who know what we like and what we like is nerdy. Our interests may vary, from video games to Verdana, but we are proud to reclaim the title of Nerd and no longer be embarrassed about who we are.
We are the girls you teased for having glasses, reading during recess and beating you at chess. We are the girls who were told to change our majors because science/math/tech/etc. is for boys. We are the girls who were gawked at in comic book stores and sci fi conventions.
We are those girls no more but we have not forgotten. We will not let you mock us for what we enjoy. We will not be intimidated at events. We are rolling natural 20's, fragging n00bz, destroying debate opponents, coding the sites you read, teaching you history, writing the music reviews for the bands you love, cosplaying your favourite anime characters, lining up at midnight for the latest WoW expansion pack and so much more.
We are nerdy and proud.

Well, the best way to support your favourite pinup is to purchase their set! Each pinup receives a portion of all merchandise sold with the images on it, so the more you purchase, the more she’ll receive in royalties! There will also be upcoming contests, polls and more that will allow you to show your support for your favourite lady.

This site is dedicated to celebrating nerd girls and nerdy things! Between the pinup pictures, art galleries and regularly posted insightful articles, there’s something for everyone. Feel free to browse, but if you want to leave comments or participate in our polls, you’ll need to sign up to be a member.

Becoming a member is easy! Just click “Join/Login” and fill in the form with your preferred username (your email address) and password. Your username is just used for logging in - you can set a friendlier nickname once you’re signed up. When the form is filled out, click “Join!” and wait for the activation email. Click on the link provided in the email to finish activating your account. You’ll be brought directly to your “Edit Profile” page, where you can set your nickname, add your bio or change your username and password.

Just click the “Forgot password?” link under the login and provide your email address. A temporary password will be sent to your address.

After you log in, click on “Edit” under your profile picture. You can change your email address and password under the “Login” section - be sure to click “Update Login” to save your changes. You can also set or change your nickname under the “Basic Info” section. Nicknames must be unique. Click “Update Info” to save your changes.

After you log in, click on “Edit” under your profile picture and then click the “Image” tab to upload your image. Click “Choose File,” select your photo and then click “Update Photo.”

If you don’t already have an NGP account, you’ll need to sign up for one! Once you’re logged in, you can leave comments on articles. Just scroll to the bottom and type away. Click “Post Comment” when you’re ready to post.

Points are coming soon... and they’re awesome.

Right now, there are three ways to get points: 1.) Get points when you purchase merchandise on our Etsy store. 2.) Watch for NGP-attended events for point giveaways. 3.) Enter our contests to win points.

Log in to your NGP account and then click on “Home.” Click “Add More” and enter the point code and security code, then click Submit. Your points total will be updated immediately.

We’re working on a system for our visitors to send notes to our pinups. Stay tuned!

Well, you can click on this handy link to go to the pinup application! Please fill it out as completely and thoroughly as you can. Be specific, be passionate and most of all, be nerdy!

All suitable applicants will be contacted as soon as their application has been reviewed by the Pinup Approval Committee (PAC). The PAC is made up of existing pinups & female writers on the site who are dedicated to ensuring only the nicest, nerdiest gals make it on the site. We’re not just nerdy ladies, we are a community and want to keep it a fun, welcoming place! Once you have confirmed your interest, we’ll schedule a quick conversation between you and the PAC (via Skype) before you are officially approved to be on the site.

Start planning your photo shoot! Every pinup’s shoot is different and should focus on your main nerdy interests. Whether it’s playing Modern Warfare or donning authentic WWI uniforms, your shoot should: reflect your unique nerdy brand be creative and exciting fit within your budget for costumes/locations

There is no cost to you as a pinup for your photo shoot but you are responsible for sourcing any costumes or props you may need. NGP will help with this process as much as they can, and we will also try to provide makeup and hair services if you are not comfortable covering this aspect yourself.
NGP has a resident photographer (www.beaumondephotography.ca) but is happy to use others if you would prefer/are not local. Please ensure you send a link to your preferred photographer’s portfolio with your application.

Other than the glamour & spectacle of being on the internet? Erm, well, besides those obvious perks, all of our pinups receive a percentage (currently 25%) of any merch or galleries that are sold with their image on it. So as long as you are on the site and promoting your sets, you can be making some money on the side. However, don’t consider this a place to make your millions -- it’s a fun side project that helps promote the spectacular nerdy women that are out there!

Don’t panic! If you’re really interested in being a pinup, we encourage you to apply again. Some applications aren’t approved because there isn’t enough information - try to be as detailed as possible when describing your nerdy interests and photo shoot ideas, and by all means let your personality and enthusiasm shine through! Also, make sure that the photos you submit are recent and well lit.
